I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. During my two-week web detox I had so much time to develop some yummy recipes (yes, of course I’ll write a blog post about what I learned in those two weeks, and everything else you need to know :D)! Among other things I had a lot of smoothies, acai bowls, nice cream, etc. And this is one of my favorite acai bowl recipes ever!! I topped it with my granola & it made the perfect breakfast.
1 cup frozen blueberries
¼ medium apple
1 cup (or less if you want even more texture) of beetroot juice
1 tsp coconut palm sugar
ginger (to taste)
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp burbon vanilla
1 tsp acai powder
It’s the perfect breakfast (or snack on the go!) because it’s packed with antioxidants, which are essential in today’s polluted world. Our bodies simply just can’t keep up with antioxidant production, so we need to increase the intake of them. These vitamins, minerals phytochemicals and enzymes are essential for our health – they increase the strength of our immune system, help prevent eye, heart, or memory problems, and are an excellent mood stabilizer. So YAY ANTIOXIDANTS! Another benefit of this smoothie can be ginger (if you’re nuts, like me, and put a ton of the root inside). Ginger helps with stomach problems such as nausea and inflammation, which are the main reasons I love it so much. There are countless other amazing benefits of ginger, I’m sure you can find them all if you google it! And last, but not least, this yummy breakfast bowl keeps you full for a while. I usually make a double dose, and sip the smoothie until lunch, well – just because it tastes so good :D
